The tour of Lake Garda
The circuit around Lake Garda measures almost 200 kilometres. It is an exciting itinerary, where the landscapes vary from the distinctive lake views of the villages dotted along the shores of the lake, up to the mountain peaks that surround it.
To complete the tour of Lake Garda, the circumference can be travelled either clockwise or counterclockwise. Departing from Arco is the most spectacular option. From the hotel, proceed in the direction of Riva del Garda, surrounded by the natural beauty of the upper Lake Garda and the monuments of the area such as the evocative Inviolata Church (Church of the Virgin), a significant example of geometric baroque architecture located in Riva del Garda.
Once past the town, continue towards Limone sul Garda, a lakeside town on the western shore. Follow the panoramic western “Gardesana” road, which takes you into the Alto Garda Bresciano Park.
Once you leave the park, proceed towards the towns of Limone, Tremosine, Gardola, Gardone Riviera and Salò. You can then continue on to Desenzano del Garda, a splendid port and tourist town, as well as the most densely populated of the numerous municipalities in the Lake basin. Noteworthy sights include the Castle and Venetian buildings which surround the old port.
Leaving Desenzano behind, head to Peschiera, from where you begin to drive up along the eastern shore of the lake. The road passes through Sirmione, Lazise, Bardolino, Torri del Benaco, Brenzone, Malcesine and Torbole, in the shadow of the imposing mass of Monte Baldo. A cable car, departing from the village of Malcesine, transports visitors to the mountain summit.
At this point, you are already on the return leg. A few kilometres down the road you will encounter the junction to Arco, which brings you back to the hotel.
